Mastershield polymer floor coating from Concrete Technologies, Parchem is a decorative interior flooring range suitable for both domestic and commercial use. The dense polymer structure of Mastershield makes it a hard wearing flooring surface which gives it strength and durability while being very attractive and totally customisable.
As a protective coating, Mastershield's strength (31Mpa) is unsurpassed. It provides exceptional resistance to knocks from heavy and solid objects (tools, weights and so on) and is suitable for protecting even industrial floors from the rigours of heavy operation.
Garage floors are typically accepted as dirty concrete floors, which absorb chemicals, car oil, tyre marks, cracks, chips and wear. However this does not need to be the case!
Signature Surface’s polymer floor coating system (Mastershield) is an easy and affordable way to transform your garage into an attractive room, increasing both the value of your home and the useability of your garage.
Your garage floor becomes a seemless, easy to clean surface, with resistance to chemicals, oil, knocks from heavy objects, tyre marks and so on.
A Mastershield floor is limited only by the imagination. A base colour and any combination of multi-colour flakes (over 60 blends, in course or fine), quartz, glitter, and metallic powder allow for the creation of a unique feature floor. In addition, updating the floor to match changing tastes and decors is as easy as simply over-coating.
Because Mastershield provides one seamless, smooth and impervious surface, it is a breeze to keep clean - no seams, joins, grooves or grout lines for grime to get caught in or absorbed. Its impervious top sealer coat means that even the most heavy duty spills and soiling, such as grease, oil, petrol, and so on, can be cleaned up with ease by simply wiping, leaving no stain or residue behind.
Mastershield is resistant to almost all chemicals and substances, is dust and water resistant, and will not harbour bacteria, making it ideal for kids areas.
Mastershield’s self-levelling properties make it ideal for restoring uneven, chipped, cracked and eroding concrete floors. Transforming unsightly concrete into a flooring masterpiece could not be faster or more cost-effective. It is significantly cheaper than other flooring options such as tiling and timber, or replacing the concrete slab.

Mastershield M90
A premium grade epoxy product that is solvent-based, clear, self levelling and high gloss. M90 is 100% solids, so it is extremely tough, durable and will not reduce. It may be tinted, or have objects (leaves, rocks, coins etc), graphics or effects incorporated into it. Mastershield M90 may be used for basic tint, quartz, flake, glitter or any imaginable feature floor.
Mastershield M50
An Aqueous Epoxy product that is water-based, and offers many of the advantages of the M90 product with increased economy. However, because M50 is an opaque white product it provides a low lustre satin finish. This product is only suitable for basic tint floors, flake floors, and also for creating a trowel hit-and-miss effect.
Polyurethane M20
An optional premium sealer, which can be applied over the epoxy after the floor has been completed. Epoxy naturally discolours (yellows) with regular exposure to sunlight. Polyurethane M20 prevents discolouration and with its rubbery attribute is extremely hard wearing and impact-absorbing.
Preliminary test
First we must assess the moisture content of the concrete. If there is noticeable moisture in the concrete, it is not suitable for this kind of resurfacing. Because the Mastershield flooring system creates a complete seal, water in the concrete will cause swelling with changes in climate and temperature, and the floor will be damaged. The good news is that excess moisture is only found in less than 5% of the concrete surfaces tested.
Step 1 – Base product and tint/s
Choose the base coat product - M90 Premium epoxy (oil-based and clear) or M50 Aqueous epoxy (water-based and opaque), and colour tint/s. Tints can be also be mixed together to create additional colours.
Step 2 – Decorative Finishes (optional)
Choose one or a combination of decorative flakes, quartz, glitter and metallic powders to apply to the floor. If you have any other creative ideas or additions to the floor at this stage they can be discussed for suitability.
Step 3 – Final coat
Confirm whether polyurethane or epoxy will be used as a final coat.
